In 2023, our founder, Alex Berstein, left Munich for Charlotte. It was not just a change of address across an ocean. It was the decisive episode of his life — the moment a plan on paper turned into a real life, in a real home, in a city that gave him room to grow.
He knows exactly what that day feels like: a life packed up in Munich, the long flight over the Atlantic, the stacked boxes, the unknowns, the first night under a new roof, and the morning after, when it finally sinks in that anything is possible from here. That move opened the door to everything that came next — including the company you are reading about.
Alex started Ulta Movers so other people could have that same moment. Not just people with big budgets or big houses, but people from all backgrounds: the first-generation family signing their first lease, the newcomer who just arrived from across the country or across the world, the student with one carload, the couple finally buying a home, the parent starting over, the grandparent moving closer to the grandkids.
